Dr. Julie Kenner, MD PhD

Board-Certified Dermatologist

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Kenner came to Monterey in 2015 from her flourishing practice in Hawaii. A research scientist with a background in pathology, Dr. Kenner enjoys problem solving and brings a unique approach to dermatology that focuses on prevention and compassionate care.

Dr. Kenner’s dedication for helping others was molded by years of living in dozens of culturally and economically diverse countries. From a young age, she observed medical challenges in the midst of imperfect circumstances — from her twin sisters’ emergency birth in West Africa, to her own near-fatal appendicitis as a child in Turkey. As an adult, Dr. Kenner carried out medical missions and research in Kenya, Uganda, Peru, Brazil, Mongolia and the Soloman islands as a physician and scientist.

Straight out of dermatology residency, Dr. Kenner was sent to Tripler Army Medical Center where, in addition to managing a huge caseload of patients within the hospital setting, she remotely treated the dermatology needs of military and DOD personnel stationed throughout the Pacific Rim, deftly navigating one of the world’s first tele-medicine platforms ever developed.

Dr. Kenner’s deeply nurturing nature has been a constant throughout her life. While in high school, she was driving with her younger sister when the weather changed and the roads turned icy. Losing control, the vehicle rolled twice. On their first turn, when the two were upside down and watching the windshield burst out of the vehicle, Dr. Kenner quickly hugged her sister to quell the panic, and confidently told her “everything will be okay”… and it was.

Daniella Burnam-Torrente, PA-C

Board-Certified Physician Assistant

Daniella is a board-certified Physician Assistant and Monterey local who earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from California State University, Monterey Bay. Before pursuing her PA degree, she worked as a phlebotomist at a local trauma center, where she discovered her passion for patient care and hands-on procedures. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology, and is especially interested in treating conditions where skin health and mental health intersect.

Drawn to dermatology for its unique blend of medical science, wellness, and procedures, Daniella is excited to bring both her clinical background and an artistic perspective to her practice. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys creating art, painting, and spending time with her family.

Sabrina Whang, PA-C

Board-Certified Physician Assistant

Sabrina Whang is a board-certified physician assistant passionate about helping others achieve healthy skin through personalized, compassionate, and evidence-based care.

Born and raised in Northern California, Sabrina earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of San Francisco. She then went on to receive her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Practice from Rosalind Franklin University where she trained in both medical and cosmetic dermatology during her clinical rotations.

She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and California Dermatology Physician Assistant Society. Outside the clinic, Sabrina enjoys hiking, spending time in nature, discovering new food spots, and playing fetch with her cavapoo.

Rachael brings a background of technical writing and project management skills to assist the team with the website and other projects. She currently lives in Maryland with her spouse, cats, and ball python, where she aspires to expand her business as a chocolatier and baker.
