Seborrheic Dermatitis Shampoo With Steroid Rx

Seborrheic Dermatitis Shampoo with Steroid is a prescription medication used to treat a very itchy scalp and/or flaky dandruff.

How It Works: This robust shampoo contains Ciclopirox combined with Clobetasol to knock out inflammation, Tea Tree Oil to cool the scalp and lessen the itch sensation, and Zinc Pyrithione to help adjust the microbiome and calm the skin of the scalp.

How to Use: A typical flare-up program will be to use the non-steroid shampoo on weekdays, and the steroid-containing shampoo on weekends. When symptoms subside, the steroid-containing shampoo may be discontinued and saved for future flare-ups.

Use With: Our specially crafted shampoo is designed to function as an "emergency rescue" shampoo used to treat the flare-ups of dandruff and can be used in conjunction with the non-steroid Seborrheic Dermatitis Shampoo.

Dr. Kenner often recommends that those with LOTS of flaking on the scalp pre-treat their scalp with dilute vinegar soaking so as to help release the scales and thereby allow more of the ingredients in the medicated shampoos to act at the skin. This can be done by soaking a washcloth in a 10-20% warm vinegar solution and laying the damp cloth on the scalp to soak the skin. Any type of vinegar will work.
